Iran has announced the upgraded Bavar-373 surface-to-air missile system.

This was reported by the IRNA news agency. A demonstration of the SAM was held in Tehran on November 6. According to the agency, the surface-to-air missile system is designed for long-range operation. During the test Bavar-373 detected the target at a distance of over 450 km and destroyed it at a distance of over 300 km.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Bavar-373 SAM can destroy fighters, bombers and ballistic missiles. The upgraded complex uses new Sayyad 4B solid propellant missiles for this purpose.
