US F-16 fighters intercept a Russian Tu-95 nuclear bomber near Alaska
A Russian Tu-95 nuclear bomber approached the US border. It was escorted by a Su-35 fighter jet.
Here's What We Know
Both planes were intercepted by US F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters. This was reported by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The Russian planes were spotted near Alaska.

The Tu-95 and Su-35 remained in international airspace. The command noted that both aircraft did not cross Canadian or United States airspace during the flight. Traditionally, the service added that the actions of the Russian pilots were not regarded as a threat or provocation.
Note that recently in Europe F-35 Lightning II fighters F-35 Lightning II fighters intercept Russian Su-27 and Il-20M aircraft near Poland. They approached the borders of Poland from the side of Kaliningrad region.
