Artificial intelligence designs warship systems with 100% accuracy 300 times faster than humans
At the beginning of March, we wrote that Chinese jet with 13,580 km/h destroys F-35 fighter in 8 seconds in virtual combat. A few days later, Old NVIDIA Jetson TX2-powered AI doesn't stand a chance against humans in aerial drone battles - the battle lasted 90 seconds. Now a neural network has demonstrated that it can design warship systems far more effectively than a human.
Here's What We Know
Chinese specialists are running out of time to design ships, causing shipyards to stand idle. They want to solve the problem with the help of artificial intelligence. A new designer based on a neural network has demonstrated that it works more accurately and faster than staff.
Specialists have developed a warship systems designer, which operates on the basis of artificial intelligence. It was able to do the job without errors and managed to do it 300 times faster than a human. After testing, it turned out that the solution created by the neural network could be put into production.
The authors of the project are scientists from the China Ship Design and Research Centre. Their designer is creating the ship's electrical system based on data gathered from 10 years of work on other projects.
