Improved version of Xiaomi 12 Pro will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen1+

In China, testing of the new version of the flagship smartphone Xiaomi 12 Pro has started. The original model is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen1, but the updated version will receive an improved SoC.

What is known

The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 (SM8450) runs on Samsung's 4nm process. An improved version of the chip (SM8475) will switch to TSMC's process technology, which outperforms Samsung's technology in terms of power efficiency.

According to rumors, an improved version of the SoC will be called Snapdragon 8 Gen1+. Xiaomi has already started testing the single-chip system in the new version of Xiaomi 12 Pro. The smartphone has model number L2s. Its announcement is expected in the third quarter of 2022.
