Garmin company these days announced Not only Garmin introduces Instinct 2 Smartwatch lineup, including Solar Version with infinite battery life, but also a dedicated multi-sport watch for aviators, the D2 Air X10.

What is known

The watch received a GPS module with navigation. The company says pilots can use the device to get directions to the nearest airport. For example, if the instruments fail on the plane. In addition, the watch has a Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI), which indicates whether the aircraft is to the left or right of the desired flight path.

Garmin D2 Air X10 received a flight tracking function. It activates as soon as the plane takes off. The gadget transmits the date, route, total time and duration of the flight to the logbook on flyGarmin. Pilots can also send a flight plan to their watch via the Garmin Pilot app.

In terms of looks and features, The Garmin D2 Air X10 is very similar to the Garmin Venu 2 and Garmin Venu 2+. The watch is equipped with a round AMOLED screen, tempered Corning Gorilla Glass and various sensors, including a heart rate monitor and an SpO2 measurement sensor. Naturally, the watch supports many sports modes, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Garmin Pay contactless payment service. The device has a storage device for storing 650 songs. 

As for autonomy, in smartwatch mode, the Garmin D2 Air X10 will last up to 7 days. During flight with GPS enabled and SpO2 sensor, autonomy will be reduced to 20 hours.

Price and when to expect

Garmin D2 Air X10 has already started selling on the official website of the company for $549.
