Sony introduced PlayStation Stars - a loyalty system with digital rewards

Sony continues to develop its services. From the beginning, it redesigned the PlayStation Plus subscription, and now announced the new PlayStation Stars loyalty system. You can join it for free.

According to Sony, players will start receiving rewards for completing various tasks:

"Each month you will earn bonuses if you play any game. While other tasks require you to participate in tournaments, unlock certain prizes or even become the first gamer in your time zone by going platinum in another blockbuster."

Every user will be able to earn Loyalty Points, and PlayStation Plus subscribers who are registered with PS Stars will start earning points for shopping in the PlayStation Store. The accumulated money will be useful for replenishing the PSN wallet and purchasing goods from the PS Store.

In addition, members of the program are waiting for "digital collectibles" - electronic images of beloved PlayStation items. The list includes figurines of Sony devices and iconic characters from games and other forms of entertainment. Company assures, that digital collectibles are in no way related to NFTs: "They cannot be exchanged or sold. They do not use any blockchain technology."

The program will be launched sometime in 2022.
