Ten PzH 2000 howitzers, five Gepard anti-aircraft tanks and three MARS II missile systems - Germany reports on weapons transferred to Ukraine
Germany has once again reported on the recent arms transfers to Ukraine.
What we know
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have recently received mobile anti-aircraft units Gepard and the first multiple rocket launchers MARS II (European analogue M270 MLRS). Germany is also gradually transferring self-propelled artillery systems Panzerhaubitze 2000 to Ukraine.
The official Twitter page of the German Defense Ministry says that the FRG will continue to support Ukraine in the supply of heavy weapons and ammunition. The Germany will also contribute to the training of the Ukrainian military on their territory.
The Defense Ministry stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces currently received:
- Ten Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers
- Three MARS II missile systems
- Five Gepard anti-aircraft tanks
In conclusion, we would like to add that the German government has authorized Krauss-Maffei Wegmann to begin production of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 for Ukraine. The value of the contract for one hundred howitzers is €1.7 billion.
