Sony's builder: the upgraded controller for PlayStation 5, the DualSense Edge, was unveiled at Gamescom

Sony showed off its new DualSense Edge controller. According to the company, it is the first ever high-tech controller with deep customization capabilities. DualSense Edge adds new buttons, the ability to create multiple game profiles and more.

What else is known?

The DualSense Edge is completely personalized, which was made possible by new features:

  • Buttons can be reconfigured or completely disabled.
  • Storage of multiple control profiles. Suitable for those who play games of different genres at the same time.
  • Fn button on the controller allows you to immediately make the necessary settings without leaving the game.
  • Interchangeable stick caps in 3 forms (standard, high and low).
  • For the sticks you will be able to adjust the sensitivity and dead zones.

Sony also said that they will be giving a new USB-C cable for the controller, which will lock tightly to the controller, avoiding it falling out. Although on the standard DualSense with the cable that came with it, falling out is not a common problem.

We wanted to build on the legacy of iconic PlayStation controllers by creating a controller that empowers players to experiment and personalize elements based on their own unique playstyle”, said Daisuke Kurihara, Art Director

Sony will reveal information about the DualSense Edge release and pricing in the coming months.
