The FN FAL project was launched after the WWII. Most countries phased out production in the 70s and 80s. At the beginning of the 21st century, the most active rifle manufacturers are Brazil and the United States.
By the way, Ukrainian soldiers received FN FAL 50.6 rifle, which is based on FN FAL 50.00, used by paratroopers. FN FAL 50.6 has a folding stock and 533 mm barrel
