Middle Ages or Scandinavia: blogger compares graphics in God of War Ragnarok and A Plague Tale Requiem

YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits, which specializes in comparing graphics in games, published a video showing the graphical differences in God of War Ragnarok and A Plague Tale Requiem.

Here's What We Know

In general, the blogger compared several aspects: world, textures, lighting, vegetation and physics.

World: In both games, the worlds are breathtaking. The overall landscapes are impressive, showing the full power of modern consoles.

Textures: This is where things are not so easy. For example, the textures of dirt or wood in Requiem are better. But sand and stones are better done in Ragnarok. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the winner here.

Lighting: despite everything, lighting in Requiem wins. The lighting seems to take the player to a movie about the Middle Ages, which once again emphasizes the creepy surroundings of A Plague Tale. Still, in God of War this element doesn't affect the perception of the environment in the game as much.

Vegetation: In both games the vegetation is as realistic as possible, but in God of War it is greener and richer, but in Requiem they paid more attention to details. For example, under the feet of the characters there is much more of it than in the PlayStation exclusive.

Physics: the author compared only water physics, but in both games this element is done well.

God of War Ragnarok was released on November 9 exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A Plague Tale Requiem was released on October 18 and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch (via the cloud).
