Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9, POCO M2 and POCO M2 Pro smartphones will be updated to MIUI 14
Xiaomi is preparing the MIUI 14 update for the once popular and inexpensive 2020 smartphones from the Redmi 9 and Redmi Note 9 lines.
Here's What We Know
Previously, it was assumed that these models will no longer receive fresh versions of the proprietary MIUI shell. And all because since their release several years have passed, MIUI internal testing was suspended, and the update to MIUI 13 did not go smoothly: the firmware was released with a long delay and contained some bugs.
But apparently, Xiaomi decided to rehabilitate itself in front of users and release another update. It will be MIUI 14, but based on Android 12, not the new Android 13. It will also be the last major MIUI update for the devices.
So, MIUI 14 will get the following smartphone models (some of them are clones for different markets):
- Redmi 9
- Redmi Note 9 (Redmi 10X 4G)
- POCO M2
- Redmi Note 9S
- Redmi Note 9 Pro / Max
- Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
- Redmi 10X 5G
- Redmi 10X Pro
- POCO M2 Pro
