The U.S. government recently announced a military assistance package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which includes 109 M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. Now it is known when the deliveries will start.

When We Can Expect It

According to Voice of America, citing a statement by a high-ranking Pentagon official, deliveries of BMPs will begin in the coming weeks. Now the Ukrainian military is undergoing a training program in their use.

Flashback

The M2 Bradley is the main infantry fighting vehicle, which is in service with the mechanized forces of the U.S. Army. The BMP is built on a tracked chassis and has a 25mm M242 Bushmaster automatic cannon. There is also TOW anti-tank missile system and M240C machine gun.

By the way, the AFU will receive BMP Bradley in the modification M2A2 ODS (Operation Desert Storm). Such BMPs were specially developed taking into account the experience of combat operations during the war in Iraq in 1991. The Bradley M2A2 ODS boasts enhanced protection against APCs. In addition, the vehicle has a combat information and control system FBCB2, laser rangefinder ELRF (Eye-safe Laser Rangefinder) with a range of up to 10 km and tactical navigation system TACNAV (Tactical Navigation System) with GPS.
