The IRIS-T SLM anti-aircraft missile system could follow Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine from Germany. So far, Der Spiegel has written about it, while there are no official statements from the authorities.

Here's What We Know

Germany plans to transfer four IRIS-T SLM surface-to-air missile systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The first one arrived in Ukraine back in mid-autumn last year. According to Der Spiegel, the second complex was delivered a few days ago along with 16 missiles.

IRIS-T SLM is a medium-range air defence system. The system is designed to intercept cruise and ballistic missiles, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft. The maximum launch range of the missile is 40 km.

The TRML-4D radar can track air threats up to 250 km away. In addition, the IRIS-T SLM is equipped with an active phased array radar.
