Ukrainian Armed Forces show footage of spectacular destruction of Russian Buk M1-2 surface-to-air missile system

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have eliminated the Buk-M1-2 air defence system. The surface-to-air missile system was hit by an unknown munition.

Here's What We Know

A distinctive feature of anti-aircraft missile systems when hit is the beautiful fireworks. The Buk-M1-2 destroyed in the video was no exception. Unfortunately, there is no information on what kind of weapon was used to hit the target. But it was probably not an unmanned aerial vehicle.

According to Oryx analysts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed more than two dozen Buk air defence systems in various modifications. Also, several antiaircraft missile systems have been successfully captured.

The day before, we wrote that the Security Service of Ukraine had used a drone to hit one Buk-M1 self-propelled launcher. In the middle of last month, a rarer Buk-M2 surface-to-air missile system worth $100 million was destroyed.
