Unrepairable: Google doesn't repair the Pixel Watch

Despite the fact that Google introduced the Pixel Watch smart watch almost a year ago, there is an increasing number of complaints from users on forums and communities. They are unhappy that the watch is not repairable.

Details

Due to the curved glass, it is not uncommon for Pixel Watch screens to be damaged, but Google cannot repair the display or any other damage to the gadgets. In other words, there is no official repair for the Pixel Watch.

According to the support representatives, Google has no repair or service centres for the device.

"At this moment, we don’t have any repair option for the Google Pixel Watch. If your watch is damaged, you can contact the Google Pixel Watch Customer Support Team to check your replacement options", a Google spokesperson confirmed.

The official warranty says that it does not cover damage caused by natural wear and tear, misuse, accidents and external causes (liquid ingress, exposure to sharp objects, shocks, falls, extreme conditions, etc.).

At the same time, iFixit experts, who once disassembled the Pixel Watch, say that technically the repair would be possible. For example, access to the screen is difficult, but it is still possible to replace the display.

Hopefully, this situation will change with the release of the Pixel Watch 2. The new generation of watch will debut next month.
