Xiaomi is going to introduce two smartphones with a Snapdragon 670 chip
Qualcomm has not yet officially introduced the new Snapdragon 670 chip. But now there is information that Xiaomi is preparing two devices based on it.
What is known
This was told by the editor-in-chief of XDA-Developers resource Mishaal Rahman (Mishaal Rahman). He published a tweet in which he told that Xiaomi is preparing two smartphones with the code names "Comet" and "Sirius" based on SoC sdm670. The first device can be Mi Note 4. This seems logical, because Mi Note 3 has a Snapdragon 660. The second smartphone, presumably, will be Mi Mix 3, but this is just guesswork. It is too early to talk about the announcement of devices, tk. the chip itself has not yet been shown.
Xiaomi has (at least) 2 devices with the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 (sdm670) in the works: "comet" and "sirius".

Also confirms @rquandt 's report which showed sdm670's little cluster has 6 cores and the big cluster has 2 cores. (targetconfig.xml in / vendor / etc / perf).
What kind of chip
In addition to information about smartphones, Rahman said that SoC will receive 2 + 6 CPUs. That is, the chip will not have a 4 + 4 big.LITTLE system, as previously thought. It will be equipped with two productive and six low-performance cores. Perhaps the new chipset will support up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of ROM, as well as a display with a maximum resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. In addition to Snapdragon 670, Qualcomm is going to introduce a new processor of the 700 series. They can become SoC Snapdragon 710.
