The network has already been rumored about the development of QWERTY-smartphone BlackBerry with the code name Athena. Now we had the opportunity to look at the future apparatus.
What was shown?
Judging by the published renderings, we have a direct heir to BlackBerry KEYone. The novelty will also receive a case with a metal frame and a hardware keyboard with a fingerprint scanner built into the SPACEBAR (the logo of the Canadian brand also appeared on the key). The USB Type-C port for charging is at the bottom end, and the 3.5mm headphone jack is left on top. Of the obvious differences - a double camera on the back, plus the power button moved to the right side.
According to preliminary data, BlackBerry Athena (not the final model name) will receive an eight-core chipset Snapdragon 660, 6-8 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of built-in memory.
Insiders reported a possible announcement of the gadget in April, but so far it's only rumors. The developer of the novelty is the Chinese company TCL Communication, while in India they are preparing two fully sensory devices .
This year, TCL is going to release at least two BlackBerrys with a QWERTY keyboard.
