Google will stop selling the Pixel 6a on its official shop

Google has decided to remove the Pixel 6a smartphone, the budget variant of the Pixel 6 family, from its official online shop.

Here's What We Know

This comes two years after the announcement of the device, which was the first budget Pixel smartphone after relaunching the lineup with a new camera design. Now, when trying to go to the Pixel 6a page, users are redirected to the Pixel 7a page, a budget device released last May. Apart from the phone cases, all mention of the Pixel 6a has disappeared from Google's website. However, the disappearance of the Pixel 6a from the Google shop is not a complete surprise. After all, the Google I/O 2024 conference is coming up soon, on 14 May, where the focus is likely to be on the upcoming Pixel 8a.

However, the Pixel 6a can still be found in other shops such as Amazon and Woot. But it's worth noting that the Pixel 7a offers significant improvements in most areas and is a more favoured choice for those looking to buy a budget Pixel smartphone.
