Google Chat launches voice messaging

Google has announced the launch of the long-awaited voice messaging feature in its Google Chat messenger.

Here's What We Know

The new feature will allow Android and iOS users to record voice messages directly in one-on-one or group chats.

How To Switch It On

To send a voice message, users simply tap the microphone icon next to the chat text box and start recording. Once the recording is complete, they are given the option to listen to the message and, if necessary, re-record it before sending it.

This feature allows users to convey more information and emphasis in chats, and is useful for those who prefer voice messages over text.

Nevertheless, some users may be disappointed that voice messaging is only available on mobile devices after this update, and a desktop version is still in development.

In addition, voice chat messages will initially be available only to Google enterprise customers, namely those with Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Essentials Plus, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus accounts.

The feature is scheduled to be fully launched in mid-April.
