Apache helicopter crashes in the US for the third time in two months

The US Army's main attack helicopter, the Apache AH-64E, has crashed at a military base in Washington state for the third time in recent months.

Here's What We Know

The Boeing AH-64E helicopter of the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade crashed to the ground during a routine training exercise. Two pilots were injured.

After the crash, rescue services arrived at the crash site. According to one of the firefighters, the swampy area with heavy brush made the rescue mission difficult. This incident was the third crash of an Apache helicopter in just two months.

On 12 February this year, an AH-64 crashed near Salt Lake City, Utah, injuring two pilots. More than a week later, another helicopter made an emergency landing in rural Mississippi, but the military personnel were killed.

It is now known that the US Army is investigating all the accidents and has suspended the use of Apache helicopters indefinitely.
