Japan is interested in buying the US Boeing T-7 A Red Hawk aircraft.

The information was shared by the publication War Zone. Japan is looking for a replacement for 40 Kawasaki T-4 trainer aircraft. The Boeing T-7 A Red Hawk is the favourite so far, but the Japan Air Self-Defence Force is also considering the Italian Leonaro M-346 Master and several local designs.

The T-7 A Red Hawk is a trainer aircraft that was developed to replace the Northrop T-38 Talon. The T-7 A Red Hawk is being developed by Boeing along with Sweden's Saab. The first prototype of the aircraft was shown in 2016. The same year it took to the skies for the first time.
