Instant translation in Circle to Search is now available to a wider range of users

In January, Google first introduced the Circle to Search feature. It allows users to search for what's on their screen. It was originally only available for the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 lineup, but is now rolling out to more devices, including the older Pixel 6 lineup. Devices like the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet should also get it.

Here's What We Know

Google is expanding the Circle to Search feature and adding instant translation of large blocks of text on the screen. The feature is activated by tapping the "Translate" button next to the search bar, which automatically detects the language and translates it into the user's system language. Circle to Search can also do a quick Google search using some of the translated text.

For now, instant translation in Circle to Search is already available on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S23+ and Pixel 8 Pro and will soon be available on other devices. The feature works in Google app v15.14.34.29 on devices with the March 2024 Google Play system update. However, the rollout of the new feature is still limited as it is not yet active in some regions.
