Analyst: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sales halve from the previous instalment and fall short of Square Enix's expectations

Despite the highest scores of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (remember, the game became the second highest score on Metacritic among all the games of the franchise), game industry experts believe that the game is selling much worse than Square Enix had hoped.

Authoritative analyst Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad confirmed this information.

Here's What We Know

Despite the fact that the Japanese developer did not disclose sales figures for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Ahmad is sure that the second part of the remake trilogy is selling half as badly as the previous game in 2020.

This is probably due to the fact that Final Fantasy VII Remake came out on PlayStation 4 at a time when a huge number of users had the console, whereas Rebirth is a PlayStation 5 exclusive. While there is no longer a shortage of these consoles on the market, it's still the case that not everyone on the PS5 has had time to buy one.

Surely the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC will increase the sold copies, but whether the sales figures will catch up with the previous game is still unclear. By the way, Daniel Ahmad believes that further FF VII Rebirth figures will continue to be inferior to Remake.
