Fasten your seat belt! Uber introduces a new feature in the app

Starting today, the Uber app will actively remind passengers to wear their seat belts during the trip.

Now, at the start of the ride, the driver's phone will automatically send an audible reminder, urging passengers to fasten their seat belts for their own safety.

The new feature was first tested by the company in 2021, based on feedback from drivers.

The reminder is currently available in the US, UK, Taiwan, Latin America and several African countries, and the company intends to expand its coverage to other countries in the future.

This option will be activated only during the first five rides after its launch. However, according to Uber's plans, notifications will be sent for every tenth ride to constantly remind you of this important safety rule.
