The extended version of Lord Of The Rings is returning to cinemas to get audiences ready for the new animated film

This year, a new animated film "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim" will be released, which will tell about the events that take place 261 years before the original trilogy.

Here's What We Know

"The War of the Rohirrim" will be an independent work that does not require knowledge of the previous parts of the franchise, but the film will have links to the original tapes, so it will not be superfluous to refresh their memory.

As such, June 8-10, selected cinemas will be showing enhanced and expanded versions of Peter Jackson's original The Lord of the Rings trilogy in selected cinemas. These versions have been re-released in 4K for release on Blu-ray in 2020 and are now ready to conquer the big screen.

Here's What The Movie Is About

The story of The War of the Rohirrim will centre on Helm Molothoruk, King of Rohan, known for his bravery and the legendary Battle of Helm's Fall. The role of Helm is voiced by actor Brian Cox, known for the Succession series.

When We Can Expect It

An animated film scheduled for release on December 13, 2024.

The year 2024 promises to be a significant and exciting year for fans of the franchise thanks to a number of new releases. These include the premiere of an animated film, the return of the trilogy to the big screens and the release of the second season of Amazon's The Rings of Power series.
