Square Enix has long stated a new strategy that involves "Exclusives have become commercially unprofitable": producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth spoke about the game's good sales, but noted the importance of multiplatforming and porting existing titles to as many platforms as possible.
However, at the same time, Square Enix and Sony representatives have repeatedly stated that the unfinished Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy will forever remain a PlayStation console exclusive, and from alternative platforms the games will be available only on PC.
But probably the plans of the Japanese developer have changed.
