At the beginning of 2025, the gaming industry was already experiencing difficulties: three studios closed their doors, and numerous layoffs became a reality for many employees.

Here's What We Know

Among the closed studios is Toadman Interactive, known for developing games such as Immortal: Unchained and Bloodsports TV. The parent company Enad Global 7 confirmed that the decision to close was not an easy one and was the result of unsuccessful attempts to return the studio to profitability.

Freejam, which developed Robocraft 2, and Counterplay Games, which created Godfall, also closed.

In addition, 38 employees of Piranha Games, the developers of the MechWarrior series, will also lose their jobs due to the unsuccessful sales of the latest game. "Despite the high quality of the product, the game failed to attract a new audience," said Ji Ham, CEO of Enad Global 7.
