Unexpected news for fans of The Sims 3. The game has received an update that improves its compatibility with newer versions of Windows. This is the first update to the game in almost a decade!

Here's What We Know

The update provides fixes for newer processors, including a fix for launching on some high-performance Intel Alder Lake processors. While official patch notes have not yet been released, EA Help member puzzlezaddict has shared some important information about the changes.

The new version of the game is 1.69.47.024017 and, as puzzlezaddict noted, this update mainly focuses on fixing the launch issue.

Players who encounter the activation window after the update are advised to simply click "Exit" and restart the game.
