Samsung has unveiled a new version of its popular Over the Horizon ringtone, and it happened just before the launch of the new Galaxy S25 series.

Here's What We Know

Every year, the company presents an updated ringtone to accompany its flagship smartphone models. This year's ringtone has become more jazzy, which emphasises the soulfulness and emotionality of the new sound.

The new version of the ringtone was created with the participation of a full jazz orchestra, which gave the composition a brighter and more lively sound. Samsung describes this version as "evoking the image of a perfect day and a hopeful future", which clearly reflects the concept of the new devices. This music creates an atmosphere of harmony and hope, especially when listening to it during the day.

The composition itself was written by Jacob Mann, a composer and pianist from Los Angeles who has already gained popularity for his music. The recording was done in spatial sound format, and Dolby Atmos technology was used for the final mixing, which provides deep and detailed sound.

The process of creating the ringtone was also captured in a special video, where Jacob shares his thoughts on the composition and how they tried to convey the rhythm of the day through music. The beginning of the song is soft and calm, similar to the first hours of the day, and then it gradually becomes bolder, picking up the pace, just like a busy evening.

The new version of the Over the Horizon ringtone will be part of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones, which will be launched on 22 January. According to preliminary data, the phones will be available for pre-order from the same day, and deliveries will begin on 3 February. They will go on sale on 9 February.
