Samsung Galaxy S26 series can expect big changes in terms of battery life and charging frequency

Samsung is preparing to unveil its new Galaxy S25 smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a number of improvements on 22 January. However, charging speed and battery capacity will reportedly remain the same as the Galaxy S24 series. Reports have surfaced that the battery and charging speed will be improved in the Galaxy S26 series.
Here's What We Know
According to previous leaks, the Galaxy S26 series will feature silicon-carbon anode batteries that offer higher energy density than traditional lithium-ion batteries. This will increase battery capacity without increasing the size of the device, extending battery life while maintaining a compact design.
Insider @kro_roe put up an interesting post on X that hints that the Galaxy S26 series will support 65W fast wired charging, which is an improvement over the 45W charging offered in the Galaxy S25 lineup.
While this falls short of the near 100W fast charging offered by flagship models from Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo, it's still progress for Samsung.
The company is also reportedly developing a wireless charging chip, the S2MIW06, which would allow for 50W wireless charging of a smartphone. If all these rumours are confirmed, the Galaxy S26 series is in for a big change in terms of charging and battery life.
