Trump cancels Biden's executive orders on artificial intelligence

US President Donald Trump has signed a series of executive orders cancelling 78 Biden administration orders, including important artificial intelligence guidelines.
Here's What We Know
This step was taken immediately after his inauguration, during a rally, when Trump signed the decrees on a specially brought table. One of the most notable decisions was the cancellation of Biden's AI guidelines, which were approved in October 2023.
Trump's executive order, signed immediately after his inauguration, contains an important statement: "These cancellations are the first step in rebuilding our institutions and economy." However, the document does not provide any specific explanation as to why certain orders were selected for cancellation. It only states that "the following actions are cancelled". Among them are orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic, immigration, climate change, and equality and inclusion (DEI).
Biden's executive order on AI contained an ambitious plan to develop security standards and protect the rights of citizens. In particular, it included the introduction of new security standards, the creation of watermarks for AI products, and the protection of consumer and citizen rights. In addition, it was envisaged to develop mechanisms to mitigate the impact of AI on employees, as well as to open a federal portal to search for new talents in the field of artificial intelligence.
Trump's decrees also included other important policy decisions. One of them was the second withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. Trump had already withdrawn the country from the agreement during his first term, and Biden, upon taking office, resumed participation in it.
