Four Lords, eight units and huge maps: the developers of Stronghold: Crusader Definitive Edition have revealed the new content of the updated strategy
A few days ago FireFly studio announced the remaster of the cult historical strategy game Stronghold: Crusader.
The developers immediately shared information about what innovations gamers can expect, but still additionally released a video about the main features of the Definitive Edition.
Here's What We Know
Stronghold: Crusader Definitive Edition, as well as the updated version of the first part, which was released in 2023 and Nostalgia and technical improvements brought success: sales of Stronghold: Definitive Edition exceeded 500 thousand copies, will be not just a remaster, but an expanded and improved version of the famous game.
In addition to graphical improvements and adaptation of Stronghold: Crusader to modern systems, FireFly will add four new Lords, bringing the total number of AI opponents to 20 characters and each of them will have their own approaches to battles.
Stronghold: Crusader will also add eight new units, such as desert Bedouins and Arab horsemen, which have unique advantages and can be used in different situations. For example, to hire Bedouins you need to build a special tent, and for horsemen you need a supply of camels.
In the updated Crusader series there will be larger maps for larger and more spectacular battles, and the developers have prepared two additional story campaigns, which provide five missions each and allow you to play for the representatives of European countries and peoples of the Middle East.
Definitive Edition will also feature a special co-operative mode, where you can complete 10 missions of "Battle Trail" together.
When We Can Expect It
Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition will be released on 15 July 2025 only on Steam.
