Apple releases iOS 18.3 with notifications and Visual Intelligence updates

Apple has introduced the third major update for iOS 18, version 18.3, which is 1.8GB in size. It brings a number of new features, but most of them relate to Apple Intelligence, which is only available in the US on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 Pro.
Here's What We Know
In Europe, these features are expected in April with the release of iOS 18.4.
The main change concerns Notification Summaries, which have been widely criticised for generating fake news. In iOS 18.3, notification settings can now be changed directly from the lock screen. For convenience, a new icon has been added to help distinguish these notifications from regular ones. News apps are now excluded from notifications to avoid false headlines.
Another useful feature is Visual Intelligence. It allows you to create events for your calendar based on scanning a poster or flyer with your iPhone camera. Artificial intelligence can also recognise the names of plants and animals.

The calculator has received the function of repeating the calculation when you press the "=" button again. The update also fixes errors in the keyboard and music application.
For users who are installing iOS 18.3 for the first time or updating, Apple Intelligence is automatically activated. You can disable this feature manually in the settings ("Settings", "Apple Intelligence and Siri").
Apple has also released iPadOS 17.7.4 for iPads that do not support iPadOS 18.
iOS 18.3 is expected to be followed by the iOS 18.4 beta, which includes new Apple Intelligence features for Siri.
