Electronic Arts is preparing The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 re-releases for PC, Kotaku says

Electronic Arts (EA) is likely to re-release The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 life simulation games for modern PCs. Both games are expected to be available for download by the end of this month.
Here's What We Know
According to Kotaku, both games will be available for digital download on PC this week. They will include all the original add-ons, allowing players to enjoy all the content that was available at the time of their initial release. It is not yet known if there are any plans to release these re-releases on consoles.
The original The Sims game was released in 2000 and The Sims 2 was released in 2004. Both games gained immense popularity, but eventually became inaccessible to modern players due to technical limitations and the lack of digital versions. This re-release will allow a new generation of players to feel nostalgic and get acquainted with the classics of the genre.
This move is part of the 25th anniversary celebration of The Sims series and aims to give fans the opportunity to dive back into the world of their favourite life simulations.
