Recently released GPUs from the NVIDIA RTX 5090 series, are facing serious problems. Users report that their computers stop recognising these graphics cards after installing the latest drivers. The problem mainly affects RTX 5090D models designed for the Chinese market, but there are also cases with regular RTX 5090s.

Here's What We Know

These graphics cards, which cost over $2,000, were released on 30 January and quickly sold out. However, soon after installing the drivers, users' screens go black and the computers are unable to recognise the GPUs. The Chinese forums Chiphell, Bilibili and Tieba Baidu have received numerous complaints about the problem.

The main manufacturers of these graphics cards, such as Colorful and Manli, have been the centre of attention, but there are also reports of problems with models from GIGABYTE. In addition, similar issues have been reported with the regular RTX 5090 variant, which is manufactured by ASUS.

Some users have suggested a temporary fix by changing the PCIe option from 5.0 to 4.0, but this doesn't guarantee a complete fix. NVIDIA has yet to release an official statement on the matter and users are considering returning the graphics cards to shops.
