In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley shared his vision of success in the video game industry. He noted that the work in his studio is about professional control over the scale of projects and costs, as well as the readiness to stop in time if the game becomes too big.

Here's What We Know

Kingsley expressed his fascination with large projects that are implemented by teams of thousands of employees. He said:

"When you look at these massive games created by huge teams of talented people, you wonder: how do you organise the work of 2000 people?" According to him, organising such projects is a complex task that requires a multi-level management structure.

Despite his passion for big games, Kingsley stressed that Rebellion focuses on smaller projects. He explained that their audience is usually older and has other responsibilities:

"I look at some games and start playing them, but then I realize it's been 10 hours and I'm only 1% of the way through." This leads him to look for games that provide a sense of achievement and the ability to complete the game.

Kingsley believes that many players leave large projects unfinished due to lack of time.

The studio's next game will be Atomfall, a survival game set in England, which is scheduled to release on 27 March 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
