The MMO Dune: Awakening is gearing up for its launch on 20 May on PC, and fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to explore the sands of Arrakis. In a new blog post, Funcom has revealed some interesting details about the ornithopters, the flying machines that will be key to the game.

Here's What We Know

In its latest post, Funcom introduced a "strong and massive ornithopter truck" designed to transport sandstones into the deep desert to collect spices. This aircraft is also capable of transporting other vehicles, including land vehicles and even other ornithopters.

One of the most debated issues among the community was the ability to fire from the ornithopter. Funcom has confirmed that players will be able to install missiles on their flying machines, allowing them to take part in aerial battles.

"The ornithopters have several modules that can be created and installed, including missiles," the developers noted. This will come in handy during clashes with other ornithopters or sandpipers trying to steal spices.
