Skoda has shared images of a new electric SUV that will be unveiled later in 2025. It will be the Czech brand's largest electric vehicle and a direct competitor to models such as the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Here's What We Know

According to preliminary reports, the model may be named Skoda Space. Design elements of the teaser images hint that the SUV will be the production incarnation of the Vision 7S concept unveiled in 2022. The 7S was the first vehicle in Skoda's new signature 'Skoda Modern Solid' design, which was then applied to the production electric crossover Skoda Epiq.

The new Skoda SUV is expected to utilise the VW MEB EV platform. Based on Skoda's previous comments, it should be around 4.9 metres long.

The teaser images show:

  • Front end with new LED headlights
  • The rear end with horizontal lights
  • A side body element reminiscent of the Epiq's styling.

The MEB platform allows for single- and twin-engine powertrains. The 7S concept promised a WLTP range of 600 kilometres. This is much better than the 472 kilometres of the VW ID.Buzz built on the same platform.

Unfortunately, Skoda is yet to name a premiere date. More details about the technical specifications and interior we will learn closer to the official debut.
