Optimus is going to Mars: Elon Musk will send his robot on a space expedition aboard Starship

Elon Musk has long dreamed of sending a group of colonists to Mars and promises that it will happen very soon.
However, before putting humans at risk, Musk will of course organise a crewless expedition to the Red Planet.
Here's What We Know
In his X account, Musk revealed that a spacecraft to Mars is scheduled to launch in late 2026. SpaceX will send its Starship into space, and it will carry Optimus, a humanoid robot that Musk unveiled in late 2024, as a passenger.
If the mission is successful, Musk plans to send humans to Mars as early as 2029, although, as the billionaire noted, 2031 seems more realistic to him.
Starship departs for Mars at the end of next year, carrying Optimus.

If those landings go well, then human landings may start as soon as 2029, although 2031 is more likely. https://t.co/JRBB95sgNN
