Škoda Auto, together with regional partner Thanh Cong Group, officially opened a car assembly plant in Vietnam on 26 March. The new facility will assemble the Škoda Kushaq and Slavia models, which will be an important step in the global expansion of the Czech brand.

Here's What We Know

The plant in Quang Ninh Province will assemble vehicles from prefabricated kits (CKD) sourced from India. The Kushaq compact crossover has already gone into production and will be joined by the Slavia sedan in the summer. The plant is equipped with modern machinery, has welding and painting shops, a final assembly line, a quality control centre, a precision measuring centre and an almost two-kilometre long test track.
