Ukraine to receive satellite imagery from Japan for military intelligence

Japan's iQPS Institute will provide Ukraine with images from orbit obtained through radar reconnaissance.
Here's What We Know
According to Intelligence Online, the agreement was signed last week. The iQPS Institute at the University of Kyushu already has five satellites in orbit and plans to launch another by the end of 2026.
Before the exchange of images can begin, the parties must set up programming and data reception tools, which will take approximately two to three months.
This cooperation is part of a broader strategy - starting in 2026, Ukraine will develop satellites together with partner countries. In the same period, it is planned to create a space situational awareness system and integrate it into defence technologies.
The final stage, scheduled for the period from 2030 to 2035, is the creation of a full-fledged satellite constellation for defence purposes, which will provide real-time analytics and be integrated into international security projects."
