Artificial intelligence from Animon.ai creates anime animation from photos in 5 seconds

Animon has announced the launch of its new service Animon .ai, which allows users to create 5-second animated videos from still images using generative artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
This is the first Japanese service that automates the creation of Japanese-style anime, and it is available for free to all users.

During the testing of Animon.ai on the image from Steins;Gate, only the foreground character was able to be animated, the background remained unchanged. Image: Animon
Usually, it takes more than 72 hours of manual work to create just 5 seconds of animation. Now, thanks to Animon.ai, animators can upload an image, describe the desired action, and in a few minutes, the AI generates the necessary frames for the animation.
Animon.ai offers three pricing plans:
- Free: 5 GB of storage and 480p video with watermark.
- Fan ($9.90/month): 50 GB of storage, no watermark, priority processing of tasks.
- Studio: Customised pricing for 500GB of storage and 1080p video without a watermark.

This service can help animators solve the problems of the Japanese anime industry, such as low pay and lack of staff, and allows them to experiment with different ideas and emotions of scenes faster. However, it is worth noting that at the moment, AI animates only the foreground of the image, which can be a limitation for complex projects.
