Apple is in talks with Google to incorporate the Gemini artificial intelligence model into its devices. This decision is due to the difficulties Apple is experiencing in developing its own artificial intelligence tools, such as the updated Siri and Apple Intelligence.

Here's What We Know

Gemini, already available on Samsung devices, far exceeds Apple's current artificial intelligence capabilities, making the deal particularly important.

Gemini is planned to be an in-built but optional extra for iPhone users, rather than a replacement for existing features. This will allow Apple to temporarily offer advanced AI features to its customers while the company continues to work on its own solutions. To date, the company also uses OpenAI's ChatGPT features in its devices.

The deal is expected to be officially announced in June at the WWDC conference, alongside the release of iOS 19.
