Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega have recalled the development of a new instalment of Virtua Fighter and confirmed the return of the iconic character
During the Virtua Fighter Direct 2025 Spring event, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios (creators of the Yakuza franchise, now known as Like a Dragon) and Sega reminded us that a new instalment of the Virtua Fighter series, announced in December 2024, is in development.
Here's What We Know
The authors have confirmed that development of the as yet unnamed game is ongoing and on track. Ryu Ga Gotoku is not yet ready to reveal details of the new fighting game, but has confirmed that the game will feature a character named Wolf Hawkfield. This brutal wrestler is very familiar to fans of the past parts of Virtua Fighter and will appear in a familiar image.
Unfortunately, this is all the information known about the next part of Virtua Fighter, the release date of which is still being announced.
