Toyota is likely to unveil the new RAV4 on 21 May

Toyota has released the first images of a new car that is very likely to be the sixth generation RAV4. Although the model has not yet been officially named, both exterior shots and earlier spy photos of camouflaged prototypes on road tests point specifically to the popular crossover.
Here's What We Know
Judging by the silhouette, the new RAV4 gets a more "off-road" look inspired by the latest Land Cruiser. The car has even more chopped body shapes, emphasising the utilitarian style.
The interior has also seen noticeable changes. One image shows the model getting a new screen architecture like the Land Cruiser and Urban Cruiser, but with a "hover" layout instead of integrated displays. In another image, the massive centre console with cupholders can be seen.

Although Toyota has not yet revealed technical details, it is expected to retain the 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain available with front-wheel drive (4x2) and all-wheel drive (4x4) like the current fifth-generation model (XA50). A plug-in hybrid version with all-wheel drive is also likely to remain in the range, but with an increased electric range. Recall that the current version runs on a single charge up to 75 kilometres in the WLTP cycle.
Presentation of the novelty is scheduled for 21 May. The new RAV4 is expected to go on sale at the end of 2025.
