Spanish Indra develops VALERO jet drone

The Spanish company Indra is developing the VALERO multi-purpose airborne weapon system capable of performing reconnaissance and strike missions.
Here's What We Know
VALERO consists of a cruise missile-shaped unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a ground-based LSC launcher and a command post.
The system can perform various missions due to its variable payload. The system can be launched from a ground launcher or from the air, for example, from a Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet. In general, the platform is reusable, as the drone can return to the base after completing the mission.
Development of the system began in 2023, and it consists entirely of locally produced components.

To explain, VALERO is a modular platform that resembles the Lockheed Martin development, the CMMT (Common Multi-Mission Truck) missile.

Both projects are a lower-cost alternative to traditional cruise missiles and share common features, including high development rates and the ability to launch from both land and airborne carriers.
