Rust Console Edition says goodbye to PlayStation 4: players are offered a free upgrade to PS5 and a major update this summer

The developers of Rust Console Edition have officially announced the end of support for the PS4 version: from 29 May 2025, the game will no longer be available for purchase, and in October, its servers will be completely shut down. At the same time, an updated version with improved graphics, performance, and new content will be released this summer on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and PS4 owners will receive a free upgrade to the new generation.
Here's What We Know
Rust Console Edition, which has been supporting players on previous generation consoles for many years, is entering a new phase of development. Double Eleven, the development studio, has decided to focus on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, which will allow it to take full advantage of modern consoles - higher frame rates, improved graphics, and stability.
Starting 29 May, the PS4 version of Rust will be withdrawn from sale in digital stores, and the servers will be officially shut down in October. For players who want to continue surviving in the world of Rust, the developers offer a free upgrade to the PS5 version of the game. The transition will be available at no additional cost, but only until the PS4 version is closed.
A new version of Rust Console Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be available this summer, although the exact release date has not yet been announced. It will be available in three editions - Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate, each of which will have its own bonuses and benefits.
Double Eleven has also announced a large-scale final vape for the old version - "Wipe of Wipes", which will be a memorable farewell to the PS4 and Xbox One generation. This event will allow players to end the old version era on a high note.
