Here's What We Know
The State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus has presented an upgraded version of the Chekan drone. The new version, called Chekan-B, can perform tasks as part of a swarm without direct operator control.
The declared flight range of the device is up to 25 km and its duration is up to 45 minutes. The drone weighs 13 kg and carries a warhead weighing up to 2.3 kg. The drone is launched from a catapult, and the basic version of the drone was first presented in June 2021.
It is known that in July 2022, a UAV similar to Chekan was shot down over Ukraine. At the time, wreckage with a distinctive spherical optical system casing was published. However, according to experts, it was probably a Russian Zala drone, which has a similar appearance.
