Nintendo is finalising the final preparations for the Switch 2 console and has updated the Parental Controls app, making it known about another important feature of the new gadget.

Here's What We Know

Parents will be able to restrict GameChat on Switch 2 to children under the age of 16.

Players under 16 can only use GameChat with friends who have been approved by their parent or guardian.

Parents or guardians will be able to limit who kids can chat with on GameChat, and to make sure they don't forget their friends, the older generation will be able to add text notes to the app about who's who. Parents will also get a detailed history of who their kids are using GameChat with and for how long.

Nintendo has put special security measures in place for GameChat video calls. Before a player under the age of 16 begins communicating with a video camera activated, a request will be sent to the parental control app that must be approved before the video conference can begin.
