UK to supply 100,000 drones to Ukraine: production will increase tenfold

By the end of the financial year, Ukraine will receive an unprecedented batch of 100,000 drones from the UK.
Here's What We Know
UK Defence Secretary John Healey has announced his intention to provide Ukraine with 100,000 drones by April 2026. This was reported on the official website of the British Ministry of Defence after a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence in Brussels, organised jointly with Germany.
According to the minister, this is a tenfold increase from previous commitments. This will bring the total cost of the programme to £350 million. Some of the drones will be purchased from British and Ukrainian manufacturers.
Healey noted that London is stepping up assistance not only in the area of drones but also in artillery ammunition. The £350 million is part of a wider £4.5 billion defence package.
In April 2025, the UK and Norway announced a new tranche of aid to Ukraine, worth £450 million. The main emphasis was also placed on drones, which are estimated to account for up to 70% of the damage to enemy equipment at the front.
